APC chairman bags 2 years Jail time for illegal possession of 367 PVC

The chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Abdullahi Adamu in Yautar ward, Kano state, was found guilty by a Magistrate court of illegally possessing over 367 Permanent Voters’ Cards.
Aminu Ali was given a two-year prison sentence by the court’s judge, Faroukh Ibrahim Umar, for illegally possessing 367 PVCs with various identities.
According to reports, Ali was detained in October in Kano state’s Gabasawa Local Government Area for obtaining PVCs from various individuals. Along with committing the crime for which he entered a guilty plea, he was also charged with conspiring to do so with a few other members of the ruling party. a violation of the Electoral Act of 2022, as modified, section 22.
The magistrate blasted an option of N500,000 fine for the first offense when delivering his punishment. In addition, the court sentenced Ali to six months in prison with a possible fine of N50,000 for the criminal conspiracy offense, which is against section 97 of the Penal Code.
