The Nasarawa State Police Command has detained a 75-year-old man for allegedly raping his 4-year-old niece.
The information was released to the media on Sunday by police spokesman DSP Ramhan Nansel, who stated that the police officers were assigned to the Obi Division in Nasarawa State.
Isa Nana Okpoku, “M,” 75 years old, of Daddare Development Area, Obi LGA, has been detained for raping his 4-year-old niece, according to a report that was made on Saturday, 10/12/2022 at around 8 am and filed with the Divisional Police Headquarters.
A preliminary investigation, according to the spokesman, showed that the defendant and his niece share a residence; as a result, the suspect lured the victim into his room and willfully had illicit carnal knowledge of her. However, the victim was brought to the hospital for a physical check, and a doctor there confirmed that the victim’s hymen is broken.
The suspect will be charged to a court of competent jurisdiction for prosecution after a thorough inquiry into the offense has been ordered by the commissioner of police, CP Maiyaki Mohammed Baba.
