Sacks Containing Millions Of Rotten Naira Notes Found In A Warehouse In Benue State (See Video)

On December 14, 2022, at 12:49 PM, a heartbreaking video purports to show millions of rotten Naira notes dumped along a riverside in Benue State.
Residents of Benue State were seen swarming to a riverside where a stockpile of cash was discovered in a viral video. Millions of old notes placed in bags, according to the locals in the film, have been irreparably damaged.
Pressure on currency hoarders has increased as a result of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s decision to redesign some naira notes. When stacks of sacks holding spoiled naira notes were dumped in a warehouse beside a riverside in Benue State, Nigerians were frightened.
In the popular video, throngs of locals rush to the site where the notes, housed in bags, have been irreparably damaged.
The many bags in which the Nigerian cash was kept for an extended period under humid conditions caused it to deteriorate and degrade.
