
Four days after the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) sent the new naira notes to the general people via the commercial banks, they are already being counterfeited.
In a now-viral video, a guy is heard complaining that his wife, who runs a Point of Sale (PoS) device, received a fake N1,000 new naira note.
He put on display the real and fake news naira notes so that people could see the difference.
“Ladies and gentlemen,” he said. There is now fake money in town. Be very cautious, everyone. This is a hoax; this is a genuine article.
“My wife is running a PoS business; we don’t know who handed her this money. The money is phony, as we later learned.
