2023: INEC Chairman Yakubu, Peter Obi, And Kwankwaso, Travel To London

Next week, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, Peter Obi, a candidate for the Labour Party (LP), and Rabiu Kwankwaso, a representative of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), will all be in London.

Both the candidates and the head of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will talk at the Chatham House.

Their respective visits to the nonpartisan policy institution coincide with the 2023 elections in Nigeria.

The event, according to the think tank group, is one in a series looking at general polls and political trends.

On January 16, Obi, a former governor of Anambra, will talk about his ideas for reforming Nigerian administration and policy.

Additionally, he will discuss strategies for combating corruption and insecurity as well as initiatives to support citizens’ social and political mobility.

On January 17, Yakubu will discuss the steps being taken and the top priorities for ensuring inclusiveness and electoral integrity.

The electoral chief will also talk about security, using new technical methods, and problems and preparations for how the elections will be conducted.

For the governorship elections in Anambra, Ekiti, and Osun, the Automated Biometric Identification System (ABIS) and Biometric Voter Accountability System (BVAS) were used.

On the other hand, Kwankwaso will talk about his policy suggestions for enhancing Nigeria’s systems and services on January 18.

The former governor of Kano will discuss the nation’s educational system and broader priorities for ensuring inclusive and secure service delivery.
