Man Stabbed And Killed In Anambra For Over N1600

A manhunt has purportedly been launched by the police in Ogidi, Idemili North Local Government Area, Anambra State, for three suspects who are accused of fatally stabbing one Chikodili with a broken bottle over the sharing of formula worth N1600 that had been provided to them.

According to information obtained, the victim, a junk trader at Tarzan Junction Axis along the Onitsha/Enugu Expressway in Nkpor, Idemili North Local Government Area, was an Ebonyi State native, while his assailants are Enugu State natives who also deal in scrap.

An eyewitness who wished to remain anonymous reported that the dead and his attackers had previously gotten into a protracted, heated disagreement at work about how to divide the money, which triggered the intervention of a master trader and ended the issue.

The attackers did not take well to the resolution, though, and a few hours later they reportedly summoned the victim to a drinking party to seduce him into taking decisive action against them. It was said that the dead declined the invitation even though he was aware that they still intended to harm him because the outcome did not favor them.It was discovered that the bubble burst when they eventually got him on his bike the same day, held him tightly as one stabbed him in the neck and head with a broken bottle, and then left.

The police, who purportedly have finished making arrangements for the autopsy, has put the deceased’s body at the mortuary of the Iyi-Enu hospital in Ogidi.

When the mother of the dead was encountered in her Nkpor home, she sobbed and begged for justice, adding that the attackers had squandered her son’s life.

The Ogidi Divisional Police Officer, DPO, of Ogidi, Mr. Sani Ahmed, (CSP), who merely confirmed the occurrence, said they have started looking for the attackers on the street.

“No suspects have been detained; we have started a manhunt for the eluding attackers. The deceased’s body has been placed in the morgue, but we will still retrieve them, he assured us.
