Police: MC Oluomo Igbo’s Threat Towards The Lagos Governorship Election Was A “JOKE”

In response to threats made against Igbos in the state before of the governorship election by Musiliu Akinsanya, the chairman of the Lagos State Parks Management Committee, also known as MC Oluomo, the Nigeria Police Force has intervened.
Adejobi Olumuyiwa, a spokesman for the force, called MC Oluomo’s threat against Igbos a joke.
Igbo voters in Lagos State had been threatened by MC Oluomo in a video that had leaked online.
Igbos who wouldn’t support the All Progressives Congress, or APC, should stay at home, according to MC Oluomo.
The Force Public Relations Officer responded by saying that no one has the authority to prevent Lagos residents from casting their votes for the candidate of their choice.
Olumuyiwa told viewers watching Channels Television that the Lagos State Police Command has launched an inquiry into MC Oluomo’s inflammatory remarks.
He said: “I saw a video of MC Oluomo with one mama Chidinma – an Igbo woman debunking that threat, that it’s not true, it’s just a joke he was making with a particular woman. So, let us take it as a joke, like he said.
“But, nobody has the right and audacity to tell Nigerians not to come out and vote; it’s not allowed and not proper. MC Oluomo has come out to debunk it, so let’s leave it that it’s not true.
“The Commissioner of Police in Lagos had debunked it, and MC Oluomo himself has done the same, so Lagosians should go out and vote for the candidate of their choice.”
