If Lagos Catches Fire, Hold Rhodes-Vivour accountable – APC Tells The Police
- Implores him to accept peace
The Labour Party’s candidate for governor, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has received a warning from the All Progressives Congress, APC, over a statement that is attributed to him.
According to reports, GRV used the phrase “if tonight, Lagos catches fire, it is not our fault” to emphasize his disgust with the outcome.
APC demanded in a statement that police officials arrest GRV if Lagos boils over in response to the aforementioned comments.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has been made aware of a comment made by Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate Gbadebo Chinedu Rhodes-Vivour regarding today’s elections, according to a statement issued on Saturday by Seye Oladejo, the APC’s Lagos publicity secretary.
“He accuses the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the police of “flaming Lagosians” and warning that “if tonight Lagos catches fire, it is not our fault”.
Many locations, he said, are still being attacked by APC thugs and hooligans.
“This fear mongering is characteristic of losers who don’t have sportsmanlike character.
“The security agencies should take note of Mr. Rhodes-threat Vivour’s to burn down Lagos since Nigerians are well aware of his preference for violence and belligerence.
If law and order were to break out in any area of our state, law enforcement would know who to grab: Mr. Rhodes-Vivour.
“We are gathering information on complaints of harassment and violence against APC supporters today. Some of the reports are very frightening.
“The LP candidate is currently acting like a victim. This tried-and-true tactic won’t work since smart Lagosians are aware that they are all lies spread to gain sympathy.
We are confident in the impressive credentials of our candidate Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, who will never be affiliated with violence, hence our party has no need to employ violence.
“Instead of threatening to bring down the roof on everyone, we ask the LP and its candidate to embrace peace. It won’t function.
